MAJOR ROLE OF CONSTRICTIVITY IN PORE SHAPE EVOLUTION FROM EC MONITORING
Published in 2020
Electrical conductivity (EC) is a good candidate for reactive transport monitoring. However, its quantitative use depends on the effectiveness of the petrophysical relationship relating it to hydrological properties of interest. I develop a new physically-based model to estimate EC by upscaling a microstructural description of water-saturated porous media. This model is successfully compared to published data from calcite precipitation and dissolution numerical experiments and reveals the importance of constrictivity.
